Setting Intentions

“Be strong and courageous, do not be afraid; do not be discouraged for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.” Joshua 1:9

Before exploring this interactive journal, take some time to think about what you hope to bring to and take from these pages. By setting intentions, and making time each day to reflect on our intentions, we are more likely to live into the hopes we hold for ourselves.

You are invited to dedicate the first two pages of your journal to create touchstones that you can revisit and reflect on prayerfully as you journal your journey.

What you’ll need:

Colorful pens or pencils

The invitation:

Spend time thinking about what you’d like to subtract or add from your daily life as you beginning this journaling journey. Start by naming your intentions and commit to a time each day when you will sit with your calendar to contemplate how you are living into your intentions. Doing so every day for six weeks will help you form healthy habits to nurture your ideal self into flourishing.

First, invite the Spirit of the Divine to be in your thinking and understanding as you sit with what you are letting go and what you are embracing on your journey. Ask God to grant you the wisdom to know which things about your life you might change to live more fully into your one “wild and precious life.”

Write those intentions in and around the key in the bottom right corner of the page. Color in the key any way you like.

Return to your intentions tracking calendar every day. There is no right or wrong way to work through your calendar.  The most important idea is that you give yourself the gift of time each day to sit prayerfully and put pencil to paper with purpose.

Peace be with you on your creative journey.
